suppose you have some plants that normally would like 3W/g, but you are only giving them ~1W/g. how long does it take to show the signs of underlighting? what are the first signs?

I think the first signs could be fading colors of the leaves, from a nice green to yellow or even brown, then you'd get some algae of some sort because the lack of light is preventing the plant from taking in nutrients.
