my jewl's just spawned and are garding the corner with eggs vary closely im gona let them hatch and fend for them selfs in the large tank, its well planted and has lots of caves and hideing placees . was just wandering on the jestation period of the egg's i cant find anthing on them on the web any where ? all i coult find out was they spawn in 3 set's of egg lay's about 2 week's inbetween each spawn followed by 4-6 week's of recoup

It depends on tank temps but 3-5 days is usual.

You will need some Baby Brine shrimp either frozen or fresh that will help them survive.

If these are the deep red color morph your LFS will probably be interested in trades. A small 5g eclipse is excellent for rearing/feeding fry.

I am not sure on the jestation period, but I do know that the parents will protect the fry.Not a good idea to have other fish in the tank. I had to remove all my fish except fo a rubber lip pleco.

Your rubberlip pleco may snack on the fry at night-time, since they prefer the night-shift where as your jewels prefer the day...unless you're after population control?
