Howdy folks. How 'bout them Wild?! Anyways, I posted something similar to this long ago, but that anenome has since died. However, I purchased some really good LR about a month ago, and this little anenome has hung on. He's now probably doubled in size, to a total diameter of about .75". It opens nice and has risen above the abundant hair algae under a 96 w quad light. It seems to close when I feed the fish, particularely chopped krill or silversides. Is this feeding? And now for the I.D...He's a light cream with brown bubbled tips. I always thought bubble tips were more of a pinkish. Could I just be horribly wrong (happens often), is he just too small to start showing color (in an animals that can be centuries old?), or am I just missing some sort of basic husbandry information? Thanks alot for any help. I appreciate it.

This might help: http://wish.wodonga.tafe.edu.au/kwaldon/hosts.htm
It will help ID many good anemone, at least into a family.

As for the closing up--yep, likely feeding. They snatch food with those tentacles and stuff the whole tentacle into their orifice, cleaning food off as they pull it out. Pretty normal.

Make sure it isn't aiptasia--they don't look quite the same as little bitty buggers, so I'd monitor it closely. Taking care of one is better than the hordes that follow.

Thanks Orion. It looks most like the magnifica, which from some of the pictures I have I really hope not! I'll keep an eye on him. It isn't irritating though when I touch him, but maybe that'll develop later. Thanks again for the help!
