Does anybody know of a good book on brackish tank keeping?seems that us brackish fans are pretty stiffed for info, yet brackish fish are some of the prettiest and most fascinating creatures i know of.Any help is welcome:D

There was a book published back in the 60's to 70's on brackish fish by TFH, but is way out of date now. Sadly, there is no book on bw. I agree with you on the bw fish. I have some Anablep Anablep, Mudskippers, Monos, Scats, Gobies, and Fig 8 Puffers. They truely are amazing and deserve more credit than people give. If you have any specific questions you can ask here, we always have someone to help, and I stop by at least once a day. I have been doing brackish for 7 years.

Yeah, my boyfriend has a copy of it. I love the tank discriptions in the back as to stocking levels ! What was it for a 125 there was like 20 Monos, 10 Scats, 15 Mollies, 8 Rainbows, 6 Fig 8 puffs, and 10 BB Gobies (or something like that, it was amazing!). I keep hoping Barron's or TFH will get a brackish book going. There are also some good links in the brackish section of the Aquaria Central website i.e. compatibility, the species, etc. Hope this helps.

There are a lot of books on the individual groups--Puffers, Gobies, etc., but I don't think that a comprehensive book is coming up any time soon...many many more of us need to tell TFH that we'd love to see it, and, presto, one might show up as a "quarterly"...

One of the editors, Brian Scott, is on www.predatoryfish.net/ibforums so harrassing him might get some results...

Cheers for the quick replies, pretty isolated here as a fish keeper, loads of individuals but no clubs as such.At the moment I have 3 tanks,1 of which is brackish,3 knight gobies,5 bumblebees and 3 redclawed crabs.Just aquired a 4ft tank and i'm undecided as to a cave biotopic or a mangrove swamp, decisions decisions.
