im nto sure about my oscar. still debating. :( i think i have come to the decision, if i can find a better home for it, i will give it away, if not i will keep it. i would like to try some smaller cichlids like blue eyed, something that doesnt get as big so i could keep more.

Blue acaras are real beautiful cichlids and they get only 6-8 in. you could to a few of those and a few other medium size cichlids like pikes, nicaraguans, or a severum. It all depends on what you want to do in the end

Hey Punch!!
Been around, but not that much of late. Lost your email address. Recently moved and tore down all my tanks. Restarted my 55 plant tank and a 29 Brackish right now. I still have an empty 55 sitting at my place, not sure what to do with it. It was originally a reef tank. I may make a lion tank right now. still up in the air with.
Send me an email, let me know what is up..

I will be doing exactly what I'm doing. Looking for as much information as I can on Paratilapia Polleni, Hemichromi Elongatus, and Blue Dempseys in order to make a decision on which one to commit to.

I would do the following

1 breeding pair of severums
1 female chocolate cichlid
1 male juvenile texas that I would prepare to move to another tank once he is sized up enough to play with the big boys
1 red tail shark
1 huge 8 inch festivum
1 small school of spanner and arulius barbs as targets
1 bristlenose pleco
2 panaque 40_ something pleco
1 juvenile rainbow cichlid

Mix in some serious filtration (eheim 2028, aquaclear 500, powerhead 802 with modified filter basket)

I would heat it to 82 degrees.

Throw in some onion plants, some anubius as well as a few caves and homemade driftwood.
Light it with a zoomed ultra sun.
Then sit back and enjoy the action and the tranquillity (depending on the moment).

I would do this because that is what I have right now in my 77 gallon (48LX16DX24H) and I think that it looks great. ;)
