I am thinking about starting a 5x2x2ft tank for Green Terrors. In this tank how many could i keep or is it bad to keep more than one in a tank? If it is, then is there any other fish i could keep with the Green terror? Are males or females better for keeping? What do you feed it at a young age and at an older age? What kind of water chemistry would i keep it in? Any help would be appreciated:)

if it were my tank heres how id do it.

4-5 clown loaches
3 silver dollars
a medium sized algea eating pleco

and then id get 5-6 Juvenile Green Terrors, grow them out together let 2 of them pair off and then get rid of the rest so that you just have the 2 paired Green Terrors.

thats just me though..

How many gallons is that?

I believe you can put jds with gts, but I am not sure, never kept the fish.

As ground feeders I would put some sort of catfish species, like a pictus cat or something of the sort.

I have heard convicts can be put with gt, but I have also heard you can't.

childawg,

Oh, thanks. Do you work at a petstore or something? You know a lot of stuff.

firmouth,

In an 150 gal, you should be able to keep 2 gts. For questions on what they eat and what water paremenents, just go look on this website, it will also give you some fish that a compatible with gts. This fish has great speciese profiles in my opinion.

dbcb314,
Thanks, I appreciate the compliment. Nope, I don't work at a petstore, but I am very well-read with regard to fish, and I am a math major.

Space

Space probably won't be the limiting factor. I suspect the problem will be compatibility issues. While we can generalize which fish can go with what, you will not really know until you've tried. I've kept fish together that were not supposed to get along successfully for many years. Perhaps I was fortunate and got some specimens with the laid-back genes.

You seem to like Green Terrors. Why not try a few individuals in the tank and see how it works.
