I will be getting a python, but how do I know if it will attach to my bathroom faucet? The laundry faucet downstairs has threads on it..do I need threads?

It should come with an adapter that will fit most of them.

i'm pretty sure you dont need a faucet that has a screw shape, because most faucets dont have them anyways.

this should really help. they got something called the universal faucet adapter. not sure how it works. but here's a link

should be easy to install considering its so popular and 99% of the times, there's no other choice to this kind of gravel cleaning system.

just to add a note, the python adapter fits "most" faucets, however not "all" of them. You can get an adapter that "will" work if you have one of these "more rare" faucets from any hardware store, so it would be an asset to get the python regardless.

That looks like a good way to save time. When you put water into the tank using the python, how do you declorinate it?

I usually run a thermometer under the water before reversing the flow to fill to asure it is the same temp as the tank and put the declorinator in while the tank is filling. I've never had a problem this way.

I'm still using a bucket to add water, but only because I didn't think that it was a good idea to declorinate the water that way(thx danger). That python looks easy to make as well. All that's really needed for the ends are a siliconed on bottom of a 600ml coke bottle. And a fitting for a sink.

Anyone know where I can get the part that goes on the faucet? I broke mine. I need the little piece that looks like a funnel and sits inside the part you thread onto the faucet.

No one carries waterbed supplies here, I have already looked!

andyt1286, don't buy the universal adapter just yet. You may need it, but most faucets manufactured within the last 15 years have female threads to accept an aerator. The aerator screws out and you can screw in the white plastic Python adaptor. I found that the Python adapter wasn't the same size as my aerator, but I took both to a local hardware store and they found a part that fit the faucet threads, and the Python part fit it. (Another adapter, of sorts.)

If you have an aerator on your faucet, there's a very good chance your Python adapter will work with it, or can be made to work with it.

Good luck,
Jim

W@llmart. THey sell a "waterbed fill kit" that is the same part that the python uses (but its blue). Its even made by the same company. Cost is about $9 canadian

I looked at Wal-Mart. They had nothing, even though it is a huge store, only waterbed conditioners.
