Is it normal for them to keep spitting out the feeder and sucking it back in? He grabs him, 'mouths' it, then spits it out. Lets it swim for a while, then grabs it again. This goes on for a long time. I was starting to think he was enjoying the game of killing it first.
Is this normal?

Not really, they might do this if they are already full and just being greedy.

Really? Only feed him twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night. We have only had him for 5 days now.

Well I dont use feeders myself(I think its cruel and theres a huge disease risk).I fed mine pellets and shrimp(earthworms sometimes too)but my friends jag would eat about 4-5 golds when it was 4".

My jag would take a goldfish by the head, suck on it for a while then spit it out and suck it in by the tail. it was pretty cool to watch. this usually happened after he was pretty full and killing things for the fun of it. Ohh i miss that fish.
