I've been looking at a 4' tank at the LFS while twiddling my thumbs waiting for my others to cycle. Haven't got the tape measure out but I know it is about 4' long so should be 75G to 90G depending on how wide/deep it is.

What sort of filter should I be looking at to go with it?

A canicter of medium size would probably suffice. But your stocking will definitely affect the choice.

My 55gal is 4' by 1'

It came with a hangon rated for 60gal, but I gave that away and went with a cannister filter(for aesthetic reasons) rated for 80gal. I thought I was doing great, but then these guys here talked me into doubling that with a second one. Of course, I have Goldfish in the tank, they are messy.

Nowdays the filtration choices are vast, but as posted it will depened on what and how many you go with....:)
