I've mentioned before that I can't grow java moss so I'm trying again. This time it's different than the volunteer pieces I babied along. The "fronds" (tiny leaflets) are much shorter this time so I'm hoping this kind grows. I'm starting with a biggish clump split between 2 tanks. Wish me luck.

Good Luck.

I dont know what your water temp is but i've found that over about 78 it doesnt do well...in my shrimp tanks where the water temp is ambient at about 73-75 it seems to be doing the best

I have a tank with temp at 84..the java moss is growing well in this tank with a little over 1 wpg..

I have another tank with 3 wpg and CO2..it is also at 84..the java moss does extremely poor in this tank.

I thought hard about which tanks to put it in, different temp, different water. I went with the ones I thought the moss would be easy to remove from if it's finally happy (or too happy) & the 1 with fish I hope, but only casually, to breed. Galaxy rasbora (or whatever)female getting fat (ish).

That is exactly what's happening here-with lots of light and CO2 it looks like crap. With bad lighting it is beautiful.
