what plants would you suggest for a 20g tank stocked with 1betta,6neons and 5 corys?

Depends on teh kind of lighting. If you have a standard hood which is usually around 15-20w, I would suggest sticking with hardy low light plants like:
java fern & moss
anubias
crypts
hornwort
anacharis
possibly water sprite and water wisteria
