I really like watersprite and have been trying to get it to grow as thickly as possible as a background in my 12 gal tank.

It is growing profusely on the top of the plant and kind of withering a little on the bottom where the stalk is stuck in the gravel.

Does this always happen when watersprite is planted [as has been suggested by an old reference manual]? or am I missing a nutrient or some component?

Would it do better if I just "rest it" on top of the gravel rather than planting it?

I have co2 and use flourish by excel as well as plant fert. tabs by aquar.pharm

THANKS

What is your water temp? My Water Sprite didn't do well with my 86 or so degrees. I would plant it ... Try both - float some too..

my water temp is 79 degrees.. the fish are all cardinal and neon tetras and red phantoms with some corys..I like the bright green against the reds and blues of the fish....
