Nice Jack jinks!!. Who was it that had that Jack in the blacklight type lighting a long time ago. It was like back in october. This thread reminded me of that. I would definatly like to see those pics again. Anyway nice jack again jinks. What size tank is that they are in and how long have you had them???

Well.. Its just a small tank 33 GAl.. so im probably going to have to get rid of him within 6months to a year. We'll see.. Hes about 4" right now.. hes grown 2" since i got him in.. February. The female is only about 2.5-3". They were the SAME size when i got them hehe.. He keeps knocking her up and kicking the crap out of her in th eprocess. Too bad i didnt get any good pictures of her.. shes looking th ebest she ever has right now :( ill try again tonight.. But they are pretty skitish as i moved them around and played with their tank setup too much. :( So a lot of the time if I'm near the tank they run and hide.

Ya I'm happy with my jacks.. I think they are awesome looking fish. Im not sure if i like my malawi's or these guys better! Thanks for all the nice comments!

I never see any jacks at fish stores any more.. I thought they were supposed to be very common fish?! Its been 3 months since ive seen ONE in a store.. And thats all they had.. ONE. oh well..

wow pretty nice pic's. I thought they were like 7 or 8 inch's. That's sad you are gonna get rid of em. Why not get a bigger tank for them??

I dunno if i am getting rid of them for sure.. We'll see.. Maybe they'll magically stop growing!! hah.. I Love the size they are right now :(

We already have 3 77+ GAL tanks.. just dont think i could find enough Americans that I like enough to stock one..

I dunno how happy a full grown jack would be in a 33 GAllon tank either :( its 36"x18"x12" or something like that..

Mine grew pretty fast to 5 inchs, and then slowed down. He has been at 6 inches for awhile. Tim

Well, let us know what happens with the Jacks, but we hope that you find enough interesting CAs to keep them!

its just a small *** 2' fluorecent. :( it's pretty bad light.. plus he was under a big piece of slate.. so it's basically just camera flash giving him the colour. :) I could get better pics of my fish if i had some decent lighting!
