New Tank

Im very excited went down to lfs and came home with a 45 gal tank. This is so I can seperate the jd and convict. I will probally get the convict some tank mates I just havent decided yet. But my wife doesnt share my excitement, she thinks I have lost my mind. I think she will come around when its set up and running. Im going to build my stand so it will be a week or so before its up. I was going to put the new filter on my 55 to get it seeded with bacteria. Does anyone think this can be done in only a week? Tim

hmmm its possible but I'd probably stretch that too about 2 or 3 weeks to be safe. What type of filter?? An emporer 400 with the bio-wheel's would probably net you a week's worth of bacteria catching success.

Its a cascade by penn pax. I dont know much about this filter it looks like it has all the goodies, The tank was package deal. I wanted to swap it for a aqua clear but they were out. I can always use one of the sponges out of the ac 300 thats currently on my 55. Tim
