I've decided to discontinue my 20 long as a grow out tank and make it somewhat of a community. everything will be gone by tomorrow except 6 cory cats and 2 oto's. I would just add some neons or other colorful schooling fish but the tank is set up more for cichlids (i've put salvini in the tank when they are breeding up til now). So i've decided to go the way of dwarf cichlids. Nothing too fancy, probably just some rams and whatever apisto's i can come across locally. Anyways my question is how many dwarf cichlids should i put in?
tank spec's....
20 long with standard size gravel. decorated with 7 terra cotta pots (in all different directions, angles, and sizes), one fake terra cotta colored plant, one 10 inch in diameter terra cotta thermometer with all the metal taken out. The tank looks like a flooded garden. makes for lots of little caves and hiding places.
2 unidentified real plants (ones a sword of some kind, i dont know about the the other).
standard flouresent lighting (around 1wpg)
Penguin 170 and fluval 2 plus for filtration.
50% water changes every other week (will become 20% every week now that school's out.)
marineland dualtemp set at 78.
ph: always just slightly acidic.
so.....how many rams/ apistos should i do?
