Hi everyone!

I'd like to know what are the definations of a cycled tank. Does it mean that when the nitrites levels are down to zero means that the sw is full cycle? What about the other minerals like calcium, phospate, iodine and Ph levels?

BTW what is carbonate hardness? I increased my amount of LR to about 70lbs my NO2 level is at 0.1 mg/l. My 3 clowns and 10 yellow tail damsels are doing pretty well but my yello tang pass away the 2nd day after I place it in my tank, I suspect it is due to ammonia.

When tank is fully cycled ( I presumed it to have zero nitrites) does that mean that I can add more fishes as well as corals? What does soft corals and hard corals mean?

I am thinking of giving my damsels away, back to the dealer and wait for the tank to be fully cyclesd before adding new fishes but they are doing pretty well. I'd like to have some advice on these. Thanks alot!

Your tank is cycled when both ammonia and nitrite levels hit 0.

Carbonate hardness(KH) or alkalinity refers to the buffering capacity of the water (resistance to fast pH changes).

Once your tank is fully cycled you can add more fish, but not corals. Allow your tank to mature over a period of 6-12 months before adding corals.
