View Full Version : Convicts new home
I got my 45 up and running going to be the new home for my abused(jd) convict. Im trying to decide what his tank mates will be. I was thinking about some tiger barbs and maybe some cory cats. Ive watch him closely in the 55 and he dosnt seem to be very aggressive, he only defends himself from the jd. What do you guys think. Tim

you could probably put some other tough smaller cichlid in there.
I wouldn't be putting anything else in there besides some targets dbcb. . Cories will be eliminated before long so I would mark them off as well. Targets I would put in would be danios or maybe some rainbow cichlids.

look at my crowded tanks too, lol. in my signature
tiger barbs and some cories should be fine with a convict as long as the tiger barbs have some size to them

750t---i personally think a couple of tiger barbs and a couple of corys would be ok in a 45 with a convict.
Maybe I've just got one hell of a vicious con but I tried my cories and lost some of my group because I found 1 of the cories the next day dead and one missing an eye. So I put the one without an eye down and removed the rest.
Well too late, I had talked to my wife about these fish. She bought me a present, 2 Bronze cories about 2 inches and 6 tiger barbs way small . So Im going to let the tigers get a little size to them and then introduce the con. My con only seems to be aggressive is when it comes to his cave. I have 4 caves in the 55. The con only wants one, but the jd has to have them all. Thats when the battles start. The jd tries to take over his cave. Tim

6 tiger barbs should be fine my brother had 1 medium sized tiger barb (maybe 1") in the 55g with the cons and they killed him eventually but with 6 i dont think u should have that problem.
