I'd like to grow it in low light <2wpg . I have several tanks I'd like to put it in but if there is a specific condition which is conducive to rapid growth of it I'd like to start with that .
Thanks

It's a low light plant, but I put some in my 3watts/gal. tank an it took off. Some of the leaves are 3 lobes and huge. I've actually had to thin it to keep it from shading some of the lower plants as it is, in some cases 18" high.
I'm sure you know that it loves to grow attached to rocks and especially drift wood. It will root in substrate, but likes the wood better.

I have a piece that has been in my tank for many months and has really not grown at all. I can't figure it out. I have lots of light, co2, ferts, and many plants growing very well. But not that little java fern! Does it hate hard water? Mine is about 10 dKH and 7.0 PH. It is starting to show some tiny green buds, so maybe it's day will come soon...
