Trumpet coral eating mysis shrimp (swallowed shimp are annotated with arrows; corals were fed while the lights were out, but I turned them on briefly to take the photo):

Updated shot of my pearl bubble (the first coral in the thread). The thing is ravenous a few times a week. As it swallows it's food it will deflate a bit on the sides as you can see here. The tenticles that come out when it is hungry are still visible a bit but the mouth sretches so wide at times it is difficult to see them. It has 2 mouths and if I'm not careful to give them both a small piece of fish the one will actually stretch up a bit and try to steal from the other mouth. :grinyes:

Open brain sensing food is in the water and opens it's maw (feed me!)

In the time it took me to set down the tweezer (which I used to feed it krill) and grab my camera the krill was almost gone:

Back for seconds! (acting a little quicker this time I got this shot before this krill too disappeared):

Very cool, mine never accepts food from me. But it poops just fine so it must be feeding off the zoo in it.

Mine eats a lot (I fed it a bunch of mysis the previous night). Reminds me of that human-eating plant from Little Shop of Horrors.

Photos of my candy cane and sun coral after being fed a mixture of mysis shrimp and krill. I always chuck in a bit of Coral Frenzy first to get them going!!!
do you guys turn off your power heads before feeding your corals?

I turn off all circulation.
do you guys turn off your power heads before feeding your corals?
No. Mine either filter out food or in the case of one of the LPS I just wait until the feeder tentacles are out and feed it much like one would an anemone..let it grab ahold on it's own.
