Here's a puzzler. I got a batch of plants from Arizona Aquatic Gardens a few months ago. A few species of crypts, vallisneria, rotala, apon ulvaceous, dwarf onion, giant hygro, and a few others. It went into a 25 tall tank with laterite mix below coarse sand, 55W CF lighting, DIY CO2, and in which I am giving trace, MgSO4, and KCl. pH is about 6.6-6.8, KH=4.0.
Here's the thing, all the plants are doing very well, giving lots of new growth. Except the giant hygro. It looked fine when I planted it, the leaves looked great, but the stems turned to mush within a week or two. But they were also making adventitioius roots, and the few survivors are doing well. Any ideas why they died?
