View Full Version : About FM Convicts
This is the second pair of breeding Convicts we have had. And is also the second time the female had mysteriously died after the second batch of fry.
I did not notice her being picked on. In fact, she was the most agressive in the tank. I found her dead under a shell last night.
She may have eaten a few fry 2nd time around and the male dispatched her. happens all the time. I keep a very close eye on my pair when they are spawning just to make sure nothing nasty goes down.
are they alone in the tank?
any symptoms of disease?
if they're alone you should get a few giant danios, it keeps the male preoccupied.

i was just gonna ask that same question EWOK.
are they alone in the tank. many times when they are the only fish in the tank or if the tank is too small or if they are hungry, the female or the male will eat some of the fry, or some of the fry will die and the stronger male will blame it on the female even if its not her fault. i would put giant danios in as targets, as ewok said.
