I have a female convict which is fairly larger than the male. Will they still mate or is that a no no in the fish world? The male seems very docile around her, and he lets her chase him around the tank some.

Size really isn't that important of an issue with cons as long as they are ready to breed. I have had a .75" female lay eggs for me before. Males size isn't that big of a deal either.
they are pretty much just like us people, old people have sex with younger people and no one really cares and its the same with them. so they should be fine as long as their physically ready.
