I have a 20 gal. tank and want to get a couple julidochromis transcriptus "gombi's" and a Pseudotropheus demasoni. Does anyone know a good website to order these on-line? Preferrably one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to deliver to you.

Most places that sell mail order will charge a lot for shipping -- water is heavy and expensive to ship, and since fish are usually shipped overnight, it gets pricey.

Also, unless you're ordering some really rare fish, or a large quantity of fish, the shipping costs are sufficiently substantial that they'll make an order of less than 10 fish pretty expensive.

Have you asked if your LFS can special order them? They often can do so, and save you a bundle in shipping.

If you do go with mail order, many people have had good luck with Armke's (http://www.ohiexchange.com/armke/). I've also ordered from Wet Thumb Aquatics (http://www.wetthumbaquatics.com/) and had good luck.

If you do ask the LFs to special order them tell them that you will put down a deposit and most likely they will order them for you.
