My Guppie has just had babies/fry. I have a biorb tank & I had to get this plastic plant called baby hide away as the plastic thing with holes in it for breeding wouldn't fit in my tank.
Now my fish has had the babies they have decided to hide inbetween the plastic and the filter sponge. They seem to be able to move around in there.
I would like to know if they will be okay in there or if anyone has any suggestions,
Thankyou

If the babies have enough places to hide you will soon have more than you know what to do with. to help the babies eat you could crumble a small portion of what you feed the adult/s to make things a little more bite sized. but only what those little mouths will eat
that said there are other consideration to think about beyond the survival of the fry. each fish in your tank produces waste that that makes the water less liveable for your fish and as the young fish start growing the amount of detritus increases. there are things you can do to help things like partial water changes or possibly having live plants but plants have there own complications. even so eventially these fish will surpass the bio capacity of the tank and you will have to get rid of some or move them to another tank
I have guppies and I use some small tanks to grow out the fry until I can get an idea what they will look like-my fancy being in place of natural selection to keep the population down. I still get more babies than I can raise so my angelfish is happy to help with that(yum!!!)

Thanks for your help you have put my mind at rest.
I have taken on your advise and fingers crossed they will all be ok.
I will definately be more prepared next time. Its time to
invest in a new tank to ensure they are not at risk of being eaten.
Thanks for your help
