Will these two species get along in the same tank. The tank is a 29 gallon and right now I have only a BN pleco who is about 3 years old. I want to add some livebearers to this tank and I seem to have some brown furry algae in this tank which the BN does not seem to be cleaning up. I have read that the Siamese Algae eater will eat this stuff so hopefully the two species will get along.

Yes, both species will get along. Keep in mind that true SAEs are really sociable or at least in my experience. They can reach 5 inches max. Growth seems to slow down as they near 4 inches.

Yes, true SAE's do best in groups. The other fish that look so simlar (false SAE, Flying Fox) absolutley do horrible in groups. It is essential that you know exactly what you are buying.

A true SAE and BN, no problem.
