I think the flame scallops would look great in my tank however I do not know much about them and before I buy some I want to do my homework so if anyone knows anything about them I would appreciate some info. What are their predators??? what do they eat?? do they need lots of light??? I have a 125 tank with average lighting that came with the tank plus I have added a 3' mini compact as well (going back to get the other 3' section soon)

tank mates would include

coral beauty
flame angel
purple tang
kleins butterfly
4 percula clowns

scarlet hermits
snails
2 emerald crabs
cleaner shrimp

polyps
feather dusters

Rob Toonen wrote a really good article on flame scallops for the Advanced Aquarist Online magazine:

In a nutshell - they tend to starve in captivity, usually lasting a few months at most. If you are feeding live rotifers or possibly live phyto they might survive, but I don't think you have any other planktovores so I'm guessing your not raising rotifers...

I'd also be concerned that either of the two dwarf angels, or the butterfly, would nip at the scallop's mantle.
