Just curious as to the going rate these days...?
(each, or pair..)
I just got 3 males for the 10 gallon @ $2.66 ea.
They look pretty good.... The females may be a bit on the mature side, as they are much larger. ....May need to get some more.

By Fancy Guppy do you mean a well bred/true breeding strain or just something to decorate a tank?
The guppies that catch my eye are $50 a trio.

$50 a trio? Wow! They must be something special and I would like to see them. We sell fancy guppies from $1.99 each to $2.99 each. I haven't seen anything more pricey than that.

around here they go for $2.49 a pair and any place I've gone to won't sell outside the pair. Meaning, they won't sell only males or only females.....or just 1

$1.09 each at my store, I've looked into buying a couple myself. I'm absolutely in love with them!

I think it really depends on teh strain of guppy. Some are really expensive but some you can get at the LFS for 2$

I have seen guppies go from anywhere from $ 3- 6 a pair around here. But my main problem is that most of them are old and used up guppies. They tend to be the larger males and females that are close to the end of their lives. So in a way, you are not really buying young pairs that you may have for a few years but some that are bottom of the barrel. Best bet is to find some breeders in your area that well sell you some cheap. :)
But another fish i find to be outstanding are Endler livebearers, In my area, you can find males but no females. And they run from 1.99 to 3.00 depending on the shop you go to.
I recently did got some from oddball and they are incredible.

Plus i have seen guppies go for about $50 a trio. But there were outstanding show guppies.

I'm sure these are IGFA quality guppies they're talking about and not pet store stock. If you think that's something you should check out prices on a pair of half moon bettas - aquabid.com

$2.99 a pair at my store in NYC.
Endler's 11.99 pair but not 4 sale right now cuz we have few males, so we are breeding them in plant tank.
The $50 guppies that I know of come from IFGA World Class Champion Breeders S & M Kwartler.
