Hey All,
I got a used 150 gal from a friend. It has this white haze all over the glass. I'ved tried all kinds of water spot removers, and CRL. The CRL worked a little bit but the haze is still there. I can scrape it off with my fingernail, but nothing else seems to work to well. The stains don't sem so bad when there is water in the tank, but the thing is my wife won't let me have any more fish. SO....I'm building a vivarium, with a little area for fish(I found a loophole:D ). When the tank is dry you can really see the haze. Sorry to babble but any ideas would be great.:)

Thanks All,
Todd

If you can scrap it off then get a pack of razor blades and roll up your sleeves. Sometimes that is all you can do. Otherwise try something acidic as this is generally a carbonate buildup. Vinegar, Coke or something else acidic might work.

I used both vinegar and Oxyclean (that laundry stuff). First I tried vinegar and it worked extremely well on the tank. The glass tops not so well.

Somebody suggested Oxyclean, and it worked wonders. Says that it is safe for aquariums. Just fill it up with water and some Oxyclean, let it sit for a few hours or maybe a day. Drain it and rinse it well.
