Hi all,

Ive had my tank for around 6 months now and would like to completely renew the hood and lighting. Anybody know of any good links that ship to/in the UK?

Its a reasonably small tank at 20G and I have been to a couple of LFS and all they have are flimsy (to say the least) thin plastic hoods. I think Id like a hood with the capability to put 2 tubes in.

Thanks for any advise.

Ha. You'll be lucky. The Hood manufacturers seem implacably opposed to having sufficient light to grow plants.

Pets at Home do wooden hoods - £44 - that you can fit lots of tubes into, although you have to put the fittings in yourself.

You should be able to get everything you need at animal house (www.animal-house.co.uk) if you want to get a wooden hood and light fitting s to go in - but, like faramir said, you would have to fit it all in yourself.

Why not go for one of the new arcadia overtank luminaires? Alot of these are sold for use with marine T5 tubes, but they can also be used with the freshwater T8's or other freshwater tubes. They can hold 2 or 3 T8 tubes, depending on size of tank. Have a read about them at http://www.aquatics-online.co.uk/acatalog/Arcadia_Overtank_Luminaires.html
