Alright so today whilst turning my tanks on and feeding my fish, I was not able to find my yabbie, didn't think nothing of it though as he does often hide. About 10 minutes later I was heading into the kitchen and noticed soemthing weird looking crumpled up on the floor. I stared at it for a few minutes trying to figure out what it was then it hit me! It was my yabbie laying on the floor dead. I have no clue how he did this, I have no plants or decorations that reach the top of the tank that he could of used to climb out of, there are no wet spots on the floor around the tank. BUt he somehow managed to climb out of the tank, take a good 3 and a half foot fall from the stand to the floor and then walk about 15 feet to the location I found him. Has anyone ever heard of this happening before? I am completely shocked.

All crayfish can swim, and are known as escape artists. If there's a hole in the hood they will eventually find it and get out.

In my bio class my teacher had a cray fish that climbed out of a bare 30 gallon, and ended up ON A DIFFERENT FLOOR in the school =(
the tank wasnt even half filled, it only had a few inches of water, the rest was bare

that sucks, sorry for your loss.
