oldest fish?

What was the oldest fish you ever kept or still have? I have a silver $ right now that is almost 4. My Oscar was about 4 1/2 when HITH got him.:(

One of my bronze corys, Jo, and a CAE, Sam VI are my oldest. I got them both at the same time, 8 years ago. Jo's partner, Mo, died in February.

I have a common pleco who I got 9 years ago when he was about 1.5", now he's a whopping 16" and full of character....:D

My longest lived was a figure-8 puffer, who lasted more than 18 years. A number of other figure-8s have made mid teens, and GSPs into early to mid-teens. A number of cichlids have made it to the teens as well.

We had a goldfish for 15years.
It would still be alive if my dad hadnt changed the water when the city was dumping massive amounts of chlorine and other chemicals to get rid of spyrdium and other nasties.

my sis had a feeder fish(you know the ones they give away at fares and stuff) that lasted 3 years!!!!(mine died 5 days after i got them)

Why so small still? I've had 2yr old plecos hit the 24"mark or bigger.

My cleaning lady told me she had a feeder goldfish that she won in a fair in Ireland when she was a girl. They kept it in a glass bowl on their counter and frequently it jumped out and was rescued. The fish lived for 10 years. Imagine that!

Our oldest one is an 8 year old blackskirt tetra my sister first got after she had cycled her 20 gallon tank. :) That was the lone survivor after her heater stuck on and wasn't noticed until the temperature was close to 90 F.

We had a redtail shark and raphael cat that lived to be at least 15. I can't recall when they were purchased, but we had them before we moved, and they died after being in the 'new' house for that length of time.

WOW :eek: I thought mine was growing quickly, though it seems the bigger he gets, the slower he grows. Up to now, he's been in a 55 gallon but I plan on moving soon and with the move, he will be put in a larger tank.

I have a Bronze Cory I've had for 10 years. He was inmy first tank (5 gal) and he's in a 30 now :)

I've had 2 of clown loaches for 8 years . I don't remember how small they were when I got them, but there about 4.5" now.
(and they have NEVER had ich)

Current: 3 Goldfish: 4 Years, Angelfish: 4 years, Lemon Tetras: 4.5 years

I had one goldfish and two kuhlis given to me be a friend moving out of state, I had them 7 years when they died, but they were probably closer to 10 since she'd had them awhile before I got them.

my cousin had a lyretailed panchax for 6 years that twice its usual life span and out lived 3 broods of his young he thinks he died of age but i think the rocket panchax killed him they didnt like him and they took his teeth and threw them in the filter lol:D :p :D :D :p

7 year old silver arowana and Clown loaches, up next is a 5 year old convict and a pair of glass cats.

My dad had a Elephant nose fish live around 25 years old (he knows the exact age) and 3 tinfoils live 10-15 years old. One is still alive...
