just brought home 2 "trimacs" today, funny how they are bolivan rams, but hey whatever.
i've been looking for a few nice looking males for around a month, so i walk in, check the american cichlid tanks, and sure enough there's a tank with nice red and gold colored males. written on the tank is "trimaculatum 4.99". so i figure that they havent updated it yet and flag the fish guy. I say those arent trimacs, they're bolivian rams, but anyways i need 2. the guy argued with me for 5 minutes until he consulted his littl fish dictionary. he looks up trimac, and i point out the large green fish that looks nothing like what is in the tank, he then says "well thats an adult, -blah blah blah-". just my luck the book doesnt have a listing for bolivian ram and i couldnt remember the **** scientific name. In the end he smuggly says "well thats what we get whenever we order trimacs" so i point out the significant differences between the "trimacs" and the flowerhorns the same size in the next tank. The clerk appearently believes that flowerhorns are a pure species because he called me a lier for saying they were a trimac hybrid.
"whatever, give me my rams, and when you get home do a picture search on trimaculatum and bolivian rams"
