I would use a slow drip with any star. They are very sensative to sudden changes in water params and are indeed a good litmus test to see if your tank is in good shape. I would also encourage you to wait until your tank is at least a couple of months old or, you'll have to spot feed the star. There are several ways for slow drip acclimation but, again I wouldn't add one of these stars to a new tank. You'll want to have some time to get used to keeping things stable. When you're really ready let us know .

I would agree with max, also I have heard that they clean your sand bed so fast that they will starve them selfs to death. I would wait until your tank matures for about 3 to 6 months and then get one but just keep in mine to check the sand to make sure that the star is alive.
My tank is some where around 4 months old. So I think that I'm ok putting him in. One of my damsls has developed a white ring around his eye. Does anyone know what this could be. He still eats well and seems to be doing fine. It looks like a large white ring around one of his eyes.
