I have a 90 galllon tank and am planning to put two oscars in it. Question, is there a good chance the the Oscars will fight a lot, and compete for food, or will they generally be happy living together. I know it varies greatly from fish to fish, but what are the odds of the two oscars living together in harmony. I've read the 1male+1female will work as well as 2 females, but 2 males will not work. So if I am right that works out to a 75% chance of it working. Also what color combination would looke cool, for example, red+tiger, or tiger+albino. Thanks for the replies!

Oscars are actually quite mild for their size and their strength. They will quickly settle who is the boss and live peacefully forever after. 90G should be ok for two O's.

The smaller they are the better this works. I am told it could get rough introducing a female late to a grown up male. :)

Colorwise look see what your eyes like. Albino's are cool if the red coloring is bright. The reds are not red enough for my taste. if I were to do three oscars. One wouold be red on black tiger, red on white albino, and one gray or gold one. Tigers have more distinctive colors on them. But, really it is what your eye's like.

I personnaly like a gold Sevrum, with a red on black tiger Oscar, and maybe one or two cherry red Blood parrots. :)

Have fun, :)

actually as they get older they will fight but in a 90 gallon they should be right i suggest getting 2 juvs from 1 LFS and 2 also juvs from an other then when each LFS gets in a new batch get 2 more of the same size from both.

this way you will have(should) 4 groups of geans and once older a pair should form then sell the rest once a breeding pair have formed it should stop fighting if you dont like it.

thats what i did once but with 2 reds and 2 albinos but it worked out to be all females so i kept 1 red and got a long finned albino oscar and they bred:D :D
