Adding corals

Hello I have a 150 gallon long tank with a 45 gallon sump. I have somewhere around 230 lbs of live rock. 300lbs of sand. I want to add some kind of color to my tank the wife doesn’t like just the fish and purple and red rock. The fish i have is a blonde naso tang a yellow tang 6 green chromis 2 false percs a flame angel and a blue angel. I have a cleaner shrimp a bunch of reef hermits and turbo snails and a green serpent star. I want to add some kind of corals but i don’t think i can with the angel. I don’t like fake plants or fake corals. Do i have any choices? I will not get rid of my angel. He is my favorite fish. Oh and i have a 330gallon tank being built into my new house for the angel. He is only 6inches now.

My opinion is that its always going to be touch and go with having the angels as the flame, for example, is prone to nipping at both soft and stoney corals...So, its a big risk in my eyes...I would not like to recomend some nice corals, they go in the tank, then get ruined....

Thats what i was thinking. My local fish store sells alot of corals but he sells them kinda cheap. there just not to I duno bright with color and nice I gess lol. Is there any kind of coral that would be a better choice to try and start with to find out if they will ever make it.

i shall say my comments then leave it at that....

I dont believe it should be "tested"..not when you have two fish that will potentially destroy a coral. Corals do have to be respected as they are a living thing, like a fish...its like putting two fish in a tank which we know will fight..there is usually only one out come...something dead...

I just dont feel its the right thing to do...so, i shall gag myself now....lol...

This is of course, just my personal opinion...

thanks Atnixon i do appreciate your reply. As i do not wish to kill anyting. So there is no coral that both angels will not eat. I do have two mushrooms growing now that they do not bother. If i was to get rid of the flame angel would there be any other options then.
 
Other than the plastic sort man I'm afraid that you very likely will be out of luck.

Hey this is totally a suggestion... But would you maybe want to trade in your angels to start up a coral tank? I know you've got some very nice angels there but you've got all these other fish that will be great with corals, you have ton of live rock/sand, and you've got a nice light fixture that will give you wide range of options. I just feel like you have a very capable reef setup that's not fully being utilized.

AGAIN, IT'S JUST A THOUGHT. I just wanted to throw it out there.

Your blue angel is actually the bigger problem, in my opinion. Flame angels are known to nip at corals but many people also have success with them in their reef tanks. But I must tell you, I had two flame angels at two different times in my reef tank. One was okay. The other was not.
