Water in background....

Cichlids tend to have a grudge against my backgrounds... is there any way at all to prevent the water from entering the background? would vasoline keep the water out?

I have no idea but i use the backgrounds that u stick on the outside i recon they look just as good and cause no issues, or u can do what i am ganna do when i get time and stick the tank in middle of room so there will be no need for a backgound and u can look in to the tank from every directions

vasoline does help. but i also stick a small portion of the background up under the trim.

vasoline makes most backgrounds look better, however, you may have to reapply it overtime.
