I had some Rotala walichii that did beautifully until I bleached it. The replacement walichii form the lfs mysteriously failed. (It was a mystery becaue the original had done so fabulously well until...).

So now I have some Sunset Hygrophila that is pink only on the newer growth. I suppose the walichii was only pink on the new growth too, but somehow it make a bigger impact.

So, any ideas for a pinkish background plant with small leaves or finer texture? I have 3wpg and 6.7pH with C02.

Most of what I've read points to high light for better reds or to low nitrates. 3 wpg is bright but not very. Where are your nitrates? That gets to be a balancing act, but I've seen a lot of folks say the reds are most intense only when the nitrates are low (< 5ppm).
