My yellow watchman gobey looks as if its lips have been ripped off or something. its eating fine and is always watching out for the pistol shrimp. ive heard of a fungus that eats away at the lips of fish. do you think this could be that fungus?? any help is appreciated.

I haven't heard of that but, do it's lip look at all cottony etc? What sort of set up do you have and are there any other fish in there? If there are you should move it to a hospital tank if you have one set up and ready for it. You could also try garlic based foods if it's still eating other wise your only options for a fungal infection ,"if that's what it is" is treat with an anti fungal agent. Normally I'd encourage you to attempt to build it's healt more holistically by diet etc . but, if it has an infected mouth it's probably not eating well or at all.
Could you also tell us a bit more about the tank your params tank mates etc.

It sounds similiar to what Emo had with his yellow watchman and sadly the little guy didn't make it. Hope your's fares better and I do agree with Max on putting it in a hospital tank and keeping a close eye on it.

Everything in the tank is fine, amonia and nitrite levels are low as well as nitrate, salinity is 1.023. Theres a pistol shrimp and 3 banggai cardinal fish in the tank. The goby is eating fine and seems to have grown a bit since i got him. Im probablly going to get a used tank and keep him seperate for a while so i can monitor him closly. The only problem is goin to be trying to catch him.
