Can beard algae grow in a marine environment?

What product do you recommend and do I also have to perform some kind of physical action like pulling it off the rocks?

I've not heard of beard algae before. Now hair algae...yeah and as Max said clean up crew will often get it when it is young or short after pulling it by hand.
