Looks like a GT to me.
I am not an expert at sexing cichlids by any stretch but I cant even make a guess since the fins are not visible, what size are the fish? I would concur that my guess is male, most of the females I have seen in breeding pics have a circle spot design around thier eyes.
I could be way wrong though.

Yep...that's definitely a GT next to that beautiful JD. Too colorful to be Blue Acara.
