a razor blade should work, then regular glass cleaner to get the remaining residue... of course assuming the thermometer is on the outside as it should be...

why would you want to remove it?

depends on the thermometer, some of them supposedly are reusable and will peel right off. but the odds are doing this will damage them unless you are extremely careful. when you start bending them it seems to screw them up......

others... are like was posted. try to peel them, use a razor blade if you have to..... some wd40 or something on a rag should get glue off, then clean it normally..... (this is for the outside of the tank only, wd40 or any solvent in the tank is liable to cause some problems. i never directly spray my tanks with anything, it is applied to the towel and used like that to prevent overspray.)

I once tried to remove a supposed 're-useable' - it was never the same afterwards, and left a mark on the tank. Good luck thou!

If you really have trouble, try acetone, available at your participating Canadian Tire store. On sale this week for only $4.99 with coupon.

acetone - available also from your local chemist / pharmacy as nail varnish remover.

as mentioned, don't get it in the water!
