Hi all, I'm new to this site and to saltwater tanks. I've got a 20 gallon long cycled and running with a pair of firefish and a swissguard basslet for now. I'm converting to a 40 gallon tank in my living room and I've run into a problem with the water parameters. I'm using Red Sea sea salt, which I'm told is the best, mixed with RO water. My salinity is at 1.0225, but my pH is only at 7.9. I'd like to get it to 8.3, but if I add more salt, my salinity will raise too. I know it can be higher, but this is about what I'd prefer to keep it at. How do I raise the pH without raising the salinity? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Increase your buffer. There are many quality buffers available--you might want to check your Alkalinity and calcium hardness as well, especially if you're using RO water. Adding crushed coral (not as substrate, but in a nylon bag in the sump, for example) would be the easiest solution.
