I am new having fish, and I am interested in having some Mollies in a 20 gallon tank.

they are peaceful, herbivorous, and like higher salt concentrations in the water.

If you have hard water, and go for a commonly available type - in other words you can get em in your local shop - then you can do without the salt. They are livebearers, giving birth to live young rather than laying eggs. They like their greens, and are great for communities.
