I have this stuff that looks exactly like hair growing on my LR. I thought it was just laying there and tried to remove it but it was attached. It is a grayish black color. As of now its just a little patch. Anyone have an idea what it is?

Are you sure about this? This stuff looks like a DON KING hair do. I have no idea, I tried to pull on it and its attached real securely to my LR as if it grew out of it.

Sorry, I read your first post hastily. I hate it when people do that. Sounds more like hair algae, which is usually green. Emerald crabs and scarlet hermits will eat some, snails don't seem to touch it. If your NO3 and PO4 are low, it should be manageable.
