Hi and welcome to the madness
Poor you, waiting a whole month for a reply
I keep south american tetras and cichlids in planted tanks and aim for a biotope type tank (flooded forest)
I've done a little research and there are a few plants which look likely, the following are all from South America but not necessarily Ecuador because you'd have less choice
where plants are distributed in other areas of the world I have specified the variety which grows in SA
Egeria Densa
Myriophyllum Mattogrossense/M. Pinnatum
Alternathera Reineckii(narrow reddish leaves)
Hygrophila guianensis
Stargrass
Echinodorus - take your pick

Riccia
Salvinia auriculata
Vallis Neotropicalis
Mayacca Fluviatilis/vandlii/selowiana
where plants are unavailable/ unsuitable I am willing to subsitute plants which look/grow the same from other areas, if they keep the look of the biotope.
The info I've got comes from Baensch 1,2 and 3 (boast, boast

)
Hope this helps some

Regards
Polly
