Well, after being gone for a week I have been trying to get everything put back in order. I did a 50% water change, just as I normally do, added my ferts, pruned, scrubbed....just normal maintenance. BUT...I didn't check my pH and kh.

Well, sitting in my chair and watching t.v. I noticed my clown loaches acting a bit off. They were swimming mid water, more like hovering there. So I checked my pH and kh. They ph was 6.0 or less (low as mine goes) and the kh was maybe 2 d, but probably a bit less. No wonder the poor fishies were acting weird. I did a small water change (about 15-20%) added a bit of baking soda. I thought for sure two of them were dead. One was lying on its back not moving, and the other was lying on it's side. But, now they seem to be o.k. I hope they don't go into pH shock. (I backed off on the co2 also, makes me wonder if a little boy has itchy fingers!)

Wish me luck with them. And on a side note, my kribs didn't even act like a thing was wrong, just going about their business.

Which one? I now have 5!!!!!! Some are doing great, others have leaves that look like they are wearing a green fur coat. I have got to get this stuff straightened out. Why is it when you get things where you want them something always happens!
