i know they both made of same materials. but im having trouble deciding between them 2 due to their visual aspects.
flourite orginal is brown mixed with black. if it was all brown, i wouldnt have any doubt.
flourite red is very red. does it look natural underwater?
pics or personal experience would defintily help
thanks

I have Flourite Red mixed roughly 50/50 with medium grain sand. This tank is heavily planted and looks great! The Flourite Red captures the feel of iron rich clay and slow flowing streams from the orient. If used correctly, any of these can look very realistic and add to the authenticity of your aquascape. You could even get by with mixing the two together for a mid-way feel.

A mix might work out... But, I still think the FLourite Red is too red and prefer regular Flourite.

thanks for the advice guys.
this is such a hard decision just like every other aquarium decision!
i just gotta see what they look like under water. or how about a reg/red mix.

i noticed that the flourite red is clearly larger particles of gravel. they look like a clap flower pot smashed up pretty well. looks sharp too. reg flourite looks more roundish.

Wow, this is pretty funny, just yesterday, I e-mailed Seachem for a sample of both Flourite and Flourite Red. I also asked if there was a difference between the two and the person said that their wasn't. CB, do the same, e-mail seachem and ask for a sample of both. Also give them your name and address. I did that before I orded my Onyx Sand, I got a sample. It took about a week or so to come.

how big is the sample bag? i would assume it's hard to get a good example with a few grains. do they ship to canada?

The samples were in very small ziplock bags. Of course they would ship to canada, they are a Canadian company.
