I read another post about using vasoline to keep water out of a background. Can someone please explain how to do this? What exactly do you do? Thanks.

I've never used vaseline, but a teaspoon of vegetable oil. Lay the background flat, spread the oil all over. Carefully line up to the tank, and use a straight edge (credit card, hard plastic ruler, etc) and work all the bubbles to the edges. The oil holds the background in place, makes it appear much crisper, and you don't get the water drips. Works best using brand new, unstretched background--no weird bulges to deal with. It's worked for the SW tanks for about 2 years now.

I recently searched this topic and read that you can use pam cooking spray too. I think it was 80gJoe who said he's used it.
Worked well for him.

Some had concerns about using certain things on acrylic tanks. Possibly eating away at the acrylic? I'm not sure what happened with that though...

If you have a glass tank, go for it. :)

Worked well for him... ..Yes, I use Pam (vegetable cooking spray), and it worked great! As OrionGirl mentioned, vegetable oil should work too.. Push air pockets out from between the glass and background. ;)

I hope this does not insult anyone, but of course this is done on the OUTSIDE of the back of the tank. Just in case anyone was thinking of trying this any other way.
