Dojo loach free to good home So Cal

I have one Dojo loach in my 30. I realize now that he's a coldwater fish and I have no recourse to getting him into a coldwater tank. if I take him back to the lfs he'll be in a tropical tank with less individual care.

long story short I'd like my dojo to go to a good home, preferably a pond but any coldwater environment would be sufficient.

I'm located in San Bernardino CA pick up only. I'm moving this weekend so It would have to be some time after 12/10/07.
 
perfect. It makes me so happy to know he'll be going to a good home. what sort of setup do you have?
 
I was going to put him in a 2 gallon hex for a while with plans to put him in a pond that I'm building this spring. But I just googled San Bernardino and that's about an hour away from me. I don't think I can spend 6 gallons of gas for a dojo loach : / Sorry about that.

Any other takers? he's pretty active and about as adorable as a standard dojo can be.

Somehow I don't see a 2g hex as being anywhere near sufficient for a dojo until spring...

Wish I could.. I love loaches... but unfortunately my tank is far too warm for him. 84 degrees. :-\ If I come across one of my buddies who does coldwater, I'll certainly let you know.

whats wrong with your tank again, i mean, the botia can tolerate tropical temps, my botia 's (not dojo) were kept in 100g 70-80*F

but i did a little research and the parameters for the dojo are " Unheated tanks and ponds or up to 76 degrees Fahrenheit in tropical tanks. Higher than that shortens the fish's life."

There are several loach species that exist so to speak. Your botiine loaches are tropical species, yes, but the dojos are not. This includes all hillstream loaches as well.

By the way, dojos are loaches but not from botiine genus.
