Rainbowfish tank 370l (100gal)

Hi everyone I am constructing a 370l tank. This tanks is my 4th. For main fish I will add rainbowfish. The most likely rainbowfish in my mind at the moment is melanotaenia boesemani. Scavenger a good choice seems clown loaches. And last for schooling fish I was thinking of harlequin rasboras. I was thinking of just adding 1 species of rainbowfish. What quantites of these can I add?
And a last question would be if my tank is HEAVILY planted will clown loaches create problem?

I think my tank would qualify as being heavily planted, in that you can't really see the bottom, and the clowns have never been a problem. They wiggle between the plants and seem to be having a good time. There may be a little uprooting at first, before the plants take root solidly, but it should be fine.
You should be able to have at least 4 pairs of large rainbows, like bosemani, and 2-4 clown loaches without a problem in a tank that size.

With that large a tank, I would do 4-5 clowns, 6-8 bosemani rainbows and a good size school of rasboras. You shouldn't have any problem with your plants and the clowns. I have a medium planted 120 gal with 7 clowns and they are just fine.

That is what I had in mind :) The rasbora school should be something like 30 right? Also is there any other choice for a schooling fish? ( I don't want any more tetras plz :P )
Lastly except 4-5 clowns I will not need another scavenger?
Of course ottociclus and SAE's are in the plan already ;)

You shouldn't need any other scavengers, ime. Rasbora would be my pick for schooling. Other choice could be danios.

Cherry barbs might be nice as well. But harlequins are just so pretty.

So 8 rainbows, 5 clownl loaches.
How many rasboras?
How many SAE's?
How many ottocinclus?
(I know that ottocinclus are not from asia and they do not fit in the asian scheme, but I will need them to clean up grass like areas where glosostigma elatinoides will be planted. I believe that a SAE cannot clean these areas when is 12 cm. Correct me if I am wrong anywhere.

I would skip the SAE's if you want Otto's as well. SAE's stop eating algea when they get older. Otto are the best algea eaters in the long term. As for numbers I tend to go for understocked tanks.

This is not true. True Siamensis don't stop eating algae by age. False siamensis and flying fox (which are found more often) stop eating algae and also turn hostile to other fish.

Actually I keep 2 flying foxes in my parents tank that are 4-5 inches long and are still eating some algea.

another sugestion is put 2 of several types of rainbow fish in like boseman and turquoise. it really make a much more spectacular looking tank when they mature. just my 2 cents.

It has passed on my mind. But the problem is that I have not found any other equally beautiful species of rainbowfish (to my eyes at least :P)
I was thinking of adding some cherry barbs along with the harlequins but I do not know how that would look like. What do you think?

I think it would be great. Male cherry barbs are gorgeous in good condition, and I have never seen them cause trouble.

How many harlequins and how many cherrys?
